ONCO-THAI

Description

The ONCO-THAI U1189 unit has a favourable environment for developing brain PDT because of its particular location in the University Hospital of Lille and its full integration within the neurosurgery department. The technical platform of the neurosurgery department enables development and implementation of innovative technologies: intraoperative MRI located within the neurosurgery operating room (first intraoperative MRI equipment in France - BrainLab ®), a stereotactic robot (Renishaw ®) and a per-operative tomographic Rx imaging (o-arm - Medtronic ®). This equipment makes the U1189 team able to establish future standards of treatment planning and intraoperative assessment of PDT. Furthermore, the large patients recruitment is a key point to make the University Hospital of Lille the coordinator of an European clinical trial.
Recently, the U1189 unit already experienced preoperative planning in PDT treatment of the prostate; the technology implemented in the lab was used for a Phase III study (Steba biotech, European Phase III Trial PCM Tookad® 301). Finally, the U1189 has set up a pre-clinical model of PDT with Gliolan® to optimize light delivery (light fractionation).
